Scholar Award Selection

Being selected as a Spokane Scholar is a significant achievement and a testament to a student’s dedication, intellect, and hard work. Each year, the Spokane Scholars Foundation takes this recognition a step further by awarding tiered financial awards to scholars of exceptional achievement. In 2025, the Foundation added a $5,000 award as an expansion of our mission to recognize academic achievement. Each of the six subject categories include scholar awards for the following amounts: $1,000, $2,000, $3,000, $4,000, and $5,000.

These awards are determined by panels of judges whose professional expertise directly aligns with each academic discipline. Judges commit to impartiality and primarily evaluate candidates academic transcripts, test scores, and letters of recommendation, and other supporting materials from the Spokane Scholar Application according to the subject category they were selected.

To further amplify the impact of these awards, twelve colleges and universities may match these scholarships dollar-for-dollar for up to one year, doubling the financial support provided to these outstanding students.
